DEECA Regent Honeyeater Community Update - 1st April 2023

The latest update on Regent Honeyeaters in Victoria, from DEECA and the Victorian partners of the National Regent Honeyeater Recovery team can be found here.

Regent sightings have been low over the last summer, despite a prolific flowering season for Grey Box (almost 5 months!). Large amounts of buds on Mugga Ironbark in Chiltern and surrounds give hope for sightings over winter.

These updates are published every 3-6 months and all the past updates can be found on the DEECA website:

In the spirit of reconciliation the Regent Honeyeater Project acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
